Yosemite National park cross-country skiing

The Yosemite Cross Country center has been teaching people how to cross-country ski since 1970, so if your new to the sport and want to try it out, when visiting Yosemite, make sure to stop by. They are known for having some epics views that you’ll only get to see on the skis!!

And don’t fret my seasoned vets…you can also just rent equipment and take on the trails yourself!

They also have guided tours for park visitors and overnight excursions into the back country. With 90 miles of marked trails and 25 miles of groomed trails there is something for all levels.

We ended up renting equipment for $20 each, picked up a map (which let us know the trail difficulty levels), and decided to hit the Old Glacier Point Road. (This trail was recommended by the people working at the center.)

We ended up stepping off our skis and playing in the untouched snow for a bit. The snow was so high that we kept sinking into it as we walked. The boys had a snowball fight, the girls took pics, and everyone had fun!

And remember..have fun! I think as a group we fell roughly 10 times, but the giggling, sore muscles, and landing face down in the snow are the things we’ll remember.

Yeah… my butt is still sore but it was totally worth the lol’ing I do everytime I look at these pics!

We rewarded ourselves with a beer and lunch, while we relaxed watching all the other fellow skiers and snowboarders!
