Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch

I woke up excited today because it was time for my annual trip to The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch. The Carlsbad Ranch has been displaying their dazzling flowers year after year for all to enjoy. With over 55 acres of color coordinated Tecolote Ranunculus’s you can become mesmerized with the rarity and beauty of millions of flowers all in one place.

I usually take the majority of my time exploring the Ranunculus Fields, but they also have a few acres dedicated to other types of flowers. This year I discovered succulents, roses, and other specialty flowers that were gorgeous.

After viewing the specialty flowers, I head to the main show, the Ranunculus! You can get fairly close to the flowers but to preserve them for the entire season you aren’t allowed to really go in and explore. They do have special access areas where you can get pictures looking a bit more surrounded by flowers.

Things to Know

• The flower field season changes yearly. Usually you can visit between March, April and part of May.
• It pays to find out when the flowers are in full BLOOM this is usually the best time for pictures.
• They are open 7 days a week (during the March-May season). I go on weekdays, so I know little about the weekend traffic.
• Hours are 9:00 am-6:00 pm
• The fields do have special events throughout the season like live music, photography workshops, and arts and crafts.
• If you don’t want to walk the fields, they do have wagon rides, but they will cost extra.
