It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year…All Year!

Maybe Christmas he thought doesn’t come from a store. Maybe Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.” -The Grinch

Castle Noel…where you go when you wanna feel like a kid, waiting for Santa, on the night before Christmas. It’s America’s Largest Year Round Indoor Christmas Entertainment Attraction and it’s right here in Medina, Ohio!

A trip to Castle Noel will inspire the biggest Grinch to lighten up and enjoy that Christmas spirit. They offer daily tours where you’ll be delighted with the largest privately owned collection of Hollywood movie props and costumes. With items from the “The Grinch”, “Elf”; “Santa Claus The Movie”, “Fred Claus”, “The Santa Clause 1, 2 & 3”, “Jingle All The Way”, “Christmas Carol”, “Deck the Halls”, and more!

Here are some of the actual costumes from Elf

A guided tour takes you through a variety of themed rooms for about an hour and a half. The collection is so extensive and changes so frequently that you’d need to come back a couple times to really take everything in.

The tour starts with a couple rooms displaying images to get you in the Christmas spirit. These images of Christmas movies, TV shows, and Christmas celebs are supposed  to inspire and bring about your own personal memories of Christmas. It’s a fantastic way to start the tour.  It truly does get you reminiscing about all your Christmas memories!

One of my favorites, in the Castle, is the collection of Holiday window displays from New York City. They have windows from Macy’s, Lord & Taylor, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Bloomingdale’s. These displays cost millions of dollars to make and are normally destroyed after the holidays so they don’t end up in the wrong hands. But Castle Noel has been lucky enough to purchase some of them for us to view year round!

Also the nostalgic Toyland is great.  You can yet again enjoy all the toys from your childhood…Toys of Christmas Past!!!  My favorite was seeing Teddy Ruxpin, I remember how much I enjoyed my very own Teddy!

Another cool room is the room where they restore all the props and displays they get. It’s a total behind the scenes room and although it’s extremely cool it’s also a bit scary. Seeing all these toys and displays in less than mint condition is slightly strange!

You end your tour by channeling your inner Ralphie and sliding down that giant red slide.  Santa is waiting for you at the top but make sure you don’t ask for that Red Ryder BB gun cause….you’ll shoot your eye out kid!!

Oh….and best thing in whole Castle thee amazing  RV belonging to Uncle Eddie in the movie National Lampoon Christmas Vacation. Fun fact the rust and dirt on the RV is all fake, these puppies don’t rust so for the movie they had to make the RV look worn in!

I seemed to have channeled my own cousin Eddie. We share similar hat styles. No surprise since I wanna live out of an airstream one day! 🙂

Before you leave Castle Noel make sure you check out the shop and stock up on all your fav Christmas memorabilia!

If  you’re like me and still in denial that Christmas is over you need to head to Castle Noel…adventure awaits!
